Christmas holidays Jan 2007 the Southcentral Kiteboarders did a cruise of the South East Coast of South Australia. The kitesurfing ports of call were Kingston SE and Robe. We lined up some excellent kitesurfing at the Granites, Kingston Foreshore and Long Beach Robe (3rd Ramp).
Mixed in was some casual competition being a freestyle session at Kingston Foreshore and a Wave comp at 3rd ramp Robe - Long beach.
- Pete took honours for overall Freestyle - best quiver of moves (North Jacket)
- Murf took out biggest jump in the competition - easily twice his previous jumping height (North Rash Top)
- Kyle took out biggest jump of the trip with an insane jump at the Granites on his 12m Rebel in 30 knots while I was on my 7m - I am stating 25 feet, hands down (North Rash top)
- Murf took out wipe out of the freestyle comp with a nice double backloop kiteloop (Naish Cross bones Stickers)
- Daz took out the wave comp mainly because of dedication to riding any wave even if it was 1ft
see the comp rules for Southcentralkiteboarders
All in all it was a great trip with lots of kiting - infact we could have kited every day we were there.
Thanks to Onboard for the prizes, a North Jacket, Rashies and a T-shirt to egg the boys on home to Southcentralkiteboarders
